polygonal landscape sign
I created this artwork for the Santa Barbara City College Digital Arts Lab, where I have been employed for over two years. The goal was to craft a visually striking design to increase awareness of the software and hardware resources available in the lab.
My fascination with fractals and love for geometric styles inspired the predominant use of individual triangles throughout this piece.
I started with the river, shaping the landscape around it. The rear section was drawn later, awaiting the depiction of overlapping mountains.
Later on, I added edges with drop shadows to establish a sense of depth.
To achieve a more water-like appearance, I opted for the ocean ripple effect.
Next, I began drawing the grass. I added outlines for the mountains and rocks, so I didn't have to draw the grass in places where it wasn't needed.
Afterward, I filled in the mountains and rocks, and later, I worked on the back part of the river.
Later, I enhanced the design by adding edges with drop shadows to create depth.
Next, I introduced geometric flowers, mushrooms, and trees, and eventually included a drop shadow for added depth.
This is the final result so far.
Next, I drew the sun and added the background. Initially, the sun was higher, but I adjusted its position to accommodate various print sizes. Finally, I included the text and arrow.
This is the final result.
